Ethnography Case Study on the Village Community of the Elderly Dying Alone

Abstract
The aim of this study, using ethnography case study, is to try to understand the community residents' changing process of their attitudes and awareness regarding death after dying alone of the elderly occurred in their village. For this purpose, the researchers visited 11 times the village community where the elderly dying alone occurred, carried out in-depth interviews with the 19 voluntary residents, and contextual analysis was made. The experiences of the residents were categorized into 4: First, huge shadow of death, and crushed village community from horror and unrest; second, regaining damaged reputation and finding secret recipe from incantation level; third, reflection upon imminent death; fourth, preparing practical plans based on self-reflections. Based on these results, discussion of death and prevention of dying alone were suggested.
